Posters from Chats Palace Printshop

Here are a range of old posters found in the attic at Chats Palace. Many of them were produced by Chats Palace Printshop (1977-1998). René Rice, a printmaker and facilitator, set up this community based silkscreen and offset lithographic printing workshop, which extended to the provision of darkroom facilities and photography workshops.

As well as in-house publicity and advertising, the printshop undertook noncommercial work on behalf of other community organisations. The posters below give a flavour of the interests and concerns of the times, advertising societies, political groups, events.
